Bicycle Pursuit Following Committing Larceny & Outstanding Warrants

On August 23rd, 2024 at approximately 5:30PM Utica Police units were dispatched to the Hannaford Plaza on Mohawk St regarding an individual with an outstanding warrant who had also just committed a larceny in one of the stores.

After conducting an area canvas, the individual was located on James St near Miller St riding a bicycle. The officers attempted to stop the male, however he continued riding away on the bicycle until Tracy St.

The pursuit ended when the male rode his bicycle into an officer, causing both to fall to the ground. The suspect was then taken into custody.

The officer suffered injuries to his hand and was also exposed to bodily fluids from the suspect requiring treatment and Wynn Hospital.

The suspect, Kevin Robinson age 38 of Utica was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with:

Assault in the second degree

Resisting Arrest

Petit Larceny

Outstanding Warrant

Multiple NYSV&TL violations.
