Camden Man Arrested for Illegal Firearm Possession
CAMDEN, N.Y. – A Camden man has been arrested and charged with illegally possessing a firearm following an incident earlier this month, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert M. Maciol.
On February 16, 2025, deputies from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division responded to a residence on Hillsboro Road in the Town of Camden for a report involving an emotionally disturbed person. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a brief altercation had taken place involving a handgun.
Further investigation revealed that the firearm, a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum, was not registered to the individual in possession of it. As a result, deputies secured the handgun and initiated an investigation.
The case was turned over to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Unit. Following their inquiry, authorities arrested 53-year-old Paul Glitz on February 21, charging him with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E felony.
Glitz was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Camden Town Court at a later date.
