Niagara Falls man arrested for DWI and multiple felony gun charges on the Thruway.

Tonawanda, NY – On March 9, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., State Police received a report of a possible disabled vehicle parked on the shoulder of I-190 just past the Sheridan Drive Exit.  Upon the Trooper’s arrival, they discovered the driver asleep at the wheel, with the vehicle running.  After interviewing the driver, Rashod D. Dolson, 33, of Niagara Falls, NY, he was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended license.


During a vehicle inventory, Troopers located a loaded APF-15 300 Blackout short barrel Assault Rifle, two loaded 30-round magazines, and a Glock 9 mm pistol without a serial number loaded with a 10-round magazine.  Dolson was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Buffalo, where he refused to provide a breath sample.


Dolson was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (Loaded Firearm other than in a person’s home/business); a Class C Felony; two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (large capacity ammunition feeding device); a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of an Assault Weapon 3rd degree; a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Disguised Gun 3rd degree; a Class D Felony, and Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor.  He was arraigned before the Town of Tonawanda Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. Dolson is scheduled to reappear on March 14, 2024.
