Trooper Gonterman, a dedicated and experienced officer with two years of service, was in hot pursuit of a stolen vehicle when a second car unexpectedly emerged from a side street, obstructing his path.
In a split-second decision to avoid a collision, Trooper Gonterman skillfully swerved his motorcycle, but unfortunately lost control and collided with a tree.
The impact was fatal, and Trooper Gonterman was killed instantly.
