Vernon Motor Vehicle Accident | One Sent To Hospital

According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert Maciol; On December 19, 2023, at about 0847 AM, Deputies responded to Norton Rd near Houck Rd in the Town of Vernon for a reported one-car personal injury motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that Kali Kula (24), of Vernon, NY, was operating a grey 2017 Nissan Rogue East on Norton Rd. Due to unsafe speed and slippery road conditions, Kula’s vehicle exited the southern shoulder of the roadway into the ditch striking a concrete culvert and then a well housing/pipe before coming to rest facing Northwest with heavy front-end damage.

Kula was transported from the scene to Wynn Hospital to be evaluated for head and neck pain. Kula was issued a citation for Unreasonable Speed Due To a Special Hazard returnable to the Town of Vernon Court on a later date.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by the Vernon Center Fire Department and Vineall Ambulance.
