On May 29th, 2024 at approximately 2:00PM New York State Parole Officers located a wanted individual who was absconding from Parole at a residence on the 600 block of South St.

Upon attempting to arrest the individual, he immediately began to actively resist and fight with them. During the course of his resisting, he grabbed a table lamp and struck one Parole Officer across the head with it. He then began to choke the officer, and attempted to gouge his eyes with his fingers.
At this point multiple other Parole Officers attempted to take the male into custody, however he continued his aggressive resistance until pepper spray was deployed at him. At that point the officers were able to secure him into handcuffs, and Utica Police Officers arrived.
The male, Albert Marone age 52 of Utica was then transported to the Utica Police Department.
After the Parole Officers received treatment at the Wynn Hospital, the following charges were levied against Marone:
Assault in the second degree
Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree
Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree
Criminal Obstruction of Breathing
Resisting Arrest
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree
Harassment in the second degree
New York State Parole Warrant
