PRESS RELEASE
On November 17, 2023, at 2:32 a.m., State Police responded to a reported crash at the intersection of State Route 31 and State Route 13 in the town of Lenox, Madison County.
The preliminary investigation has determined a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, operated by Ariana R. Savage-Ogletree, age 20 from Cicero, NY was traveling southbound on State Route 13 at a high rate of speed when she failed to navigate a roundabout at the intersection and crossed Rt. 31 where she struck an earth embankment and utility pole before coming to rest on its roof. Ariana was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three additional passengers were transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with the following injuries:
16-year-old Hailey C. Moran, from Cicero, NY was airlifted by Mercy Flight with head trauma and listed in serious condition.
20-year-old Mackenzie M. Moran, from Cicero, NY was transported by ambulance with head and internal injuries and is listed in serious condition.
17-year-old Giovanni Spagnola from Syracuse, NY was transported by ambulance with internal injuries and was listed in serious condition.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Oneida Indian Nation Police, Canastota Volunteer Fire Department, and Greater Lenox Ambulance Service.
