On June 26, 2024, at about 7:51 p.m., State Police in Sullivan responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on State Route 5 in the town of Lenox.
An investigation determined a 2016 black Honda CR-V, traveling east on State Route 5, struck a pedestrian who was walking in the middle of the driving lane. The pedestrian, Lezlie J. Moyer-Hansen, age 53, from Chittenango, NY, was transported by Greater Lenox Ambulance to Upstate University Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. The operator of the Honda CR-V, Camille A. Downer, age 40, from Oneida, NY, was not injured in the crash.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Canastota Police Department and the Canastota Fire Department.
The investigation is continuing.
