Utica Man Arrested For Threatening Man With Knife


On August 16th, 2023 Utica Police units were dispatched to a location on the 1000 block of Oswego St. regarding a menacing investigation.

Upon arrival, they learned that a victim had contacted the police after having a knife held to their throat. It was further learned that the suspect and victim were driving together when an argument ensued. The suspect was angry at the victim for a variety of things including not providing him with enough money to purchase narcotics.

As the argument escalated the suspect took out a folding knife and held it to the victim’s throat threatening them with it. The victim was ultimately able to flee the vehicle and contact the police. Upon arrival, the officers located the vehicle and the suspect and detained him without incident. A knife was subsequently located on his person and he was taken into custody. The male, Michael Marocco age 42 of Utica was then transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with:

Menacing in the first degree (previous menacing conviction within the last 10 years)

Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree
