Whitesboro Man Arrested After Wedding Reception Brawl in Deerfield, NY

According to Oneida County Sheriff, Robert M. Maciol, a Whitesboro man was arrested following a physical dispute in the Town of Deerfield.
On May 31st, 2025, Deputies assigned to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol Division responded to the Deerfield Firehouse in the Town of Deerfield for a large physical altercation at a wedding reception. Upon arrival and subsequent to an investigation, it was determined that Devlin B. Zajac (20) of Whitesboro had engaged in a physical altercation with multiple individuals, including striking one in the nose and choking another when attempts to deescalate and remove him from the premises were made.
As Deputies were attempting to effect the arrest of Zajac, he failed to comply with lawful orders and resisted arrest, resulting in additional charges levied against him. Zajac was taken into custody and transported to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building, where he was booked and processed on the following charges:
(1) count of Resisting Arrest - Class (A) Misdemeanor
(1) count of Criminal Nuisance in the Second Degree Subsection 1 - Class (B) Misdemeanor
(1) count of Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree Subsection 1 - Class (A) Misdemeanor
(2) counts of Harassment in the Second Degree Subsection 1 - a Violation
(1) count of Disorderly Conduct Subsection 1 - a Violation
After being processed, Zajac was turned over to the Oneida County Jail where he was held pending his arraignment at Centralized Arraignment.
