29 inmates were awarded certificates for their commitment to education and self-improvement.

This afternoon, a culmination ceremony was held inside the Oneida County Correctional Facility in which 29 inmates received certificates of achievement and completion in various educational, vocational, and treatment programs provided to those incarcerated at the jail. Many of these programs require the participants to engage in group discussions & activities and complete assigned homework in order to successfully complete them.

Program descriptions and certificate presentations were made by various instructors and counselors from the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Oneida County Workforce Development Board, Trinity Food Services, Helio Health, and the Center for Family Life and Recovery.

“It is important to recognize the achievements of the incarcerated individuals that show commitment to bettering themselves with the goal of transitioning into the community on a positive and productive note”, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
